Finally some blue sky this week. At last some days with beautiful light. I can't wait till winter is over !

Last week I photographed Lenny Keylard. He is a contestant in 'The Voice of Holland'. It was a joy for me to portray him. He's such a relaxed rastafari. Good luck !

BIRTHDAY PARTY

Yesterday, my beautiful daughter Levi celebrated her 12th birthday. The day before that, she threw her friends party. So, we held a 'girl power' studio session. 7 Girls with crazy clothes and stuff. We all had a lot of fun !!!

24 HOURS OF ADVERTISING

PANL asked us to make portraits during todays event ' 24 HOURS OF ADVERTISING '. We  made fabulous portraits of many leading men an women in the advertising industry, including Bas Engels. He is the creative director of advertising agency TBWA/Neboko. He now may call himself 'Advertising Man of 2010'. You can view all the portraits here. It was a great day!

HEAVY WIND

Today we shot Peter de Vrij in Den Helder, in heavy wind. I love this time of season; good skies as background.

BASKETBALL

Last friday we made this really cool portrait of Cilio for Calibris Vizier Magazine.  I still have to finetune the post-production a little. But I'm in love with my Hasselblad again.   :-)

PROFESSOR

THIS IS WHAT I LIKE IN PORTRAITURE ! Prof. Jos Uffink for KPMG Magazine. Although we had shot several images inside the university building, which we needed aswell, we went outside and made this.

Hockey

We've been very busy working. So not much time for any updates lately. One of the assignments we did was a campaigne shoot for the Dutch National Hockey Association (KNHB). It was a great pleasure to work with True Brand Activation. We shot 3 separate photograpic layers. They will combine all these for the final logo. I haven't seen the result yet. But we did have a lot of fun !

SelliDesign

Last week was for something completely different. We shot some beautiful products, designed by the talented Selke Altena (www.sellidesign.com). It was hard work carrying all that stuff into nature. But is was well worth the effort. Next week we're gonna do some more.

Edukans Campaign : Photo + Video

After spending the holidays at the volcanic island of Corsica, I spend some time editing the video of the photoshoot for the dutch NGO Edukans. We shot a 'Paris Hilton' type girl, feeding 3 scoutings boys some marshmallows. This is the first of a poster campaign. Working with the entire team was fantastic. And I am very pleased with the result!

ZEB

Last week we had a great morning with Carolijn and her little boy Zeb. The weather was perfect, the location was beautiful, and Zeb did SUPER!

YEARBOOK

For my daughter's class I made portraits for their yearbook. This is the last year of them sitting together in one class. I tried to capture the innocence in growing up. What different life is waiting to come. So beautiful to watch these faces. I'm very pleased with the portraits. You can view the complete book here.

My friend Elise, photographed for her site. She's an excellent designer and a very nice woman. Together we always laugh our brains out !!! Next time champagne at your place, Elise!

YOU & ME

I have been working for a pilot project ' You & Me'. This project was to connect children of a school with their neighbourhood. So all the kids interviewed different people working or living close to school.

Portfolio

I have been so busy shooting last month, there has been little time to update this blog. Finally I can add some stuff today. First of all, my Portfolio Book is ready.  YES !!!!! I'm so very happy! It is really beautiful. I bought the book at PlasticSandwich. Great service. Thanks Joyce.

update

Last month has been pretty busy again. I've been working on a few projects, but unfortunately I cannot show anything yet. The photo's have to be published first.  :-(     However, I do wanna share these.
The man with the tie is actually a very nice guy, though it might not show in the picture. Why do I always like these kind of portraits?

And for a health magazine we had to portray Dr. Frank. He is some kind of new diet guru. This picture will not run, but I like it anyway. Always be alert for the unexpected. 

MUD

Yesterday we were working in the mud again. Photographing Mr. Gerards voor Skipr magazine. And the best place for sure, was ........  deep down in the mud. I really need to find some work in the Caribbean : sunny and with a white beach.

But the picture was worth the effort.

ICE SKATERS

Last week we made portraits of ice skaters, as a personal project. Directly after finishing their match, we photographed them in front of a white backdrop. We were hoping to see the exhaustion in their faces. Although we managed to make several remarkable portraits, this project may need a follow up.

 

So we probably will be freezing again someday.  :-)

STUDIO TEST

Today my, intern Job and I, spend a day testing light in the studio. It was a day well spend. We learned a lot. I was looking for this look and feel. A combination between light and creative retouching. Above some early examples. I'm happy !

Jörgen Raymann

This week we photographed Jörgen Raymann. He is a famous dutch standup comedian and TV personality. And a very kind man.
It was freezing cold, as usual in this country. But we managed to make a lot of great pictures in a short amount of time.
